Join our Speaker Volunteers and give talks to a wide range of people, from community groups to local companies or even in a local school. You will be helping people to learn more about diabetes, the different types, and different ways to manage the condition. You'll also help people learn what to do if they are worried and talk a bit about how Diabetes UK can help.
Our Speaker Volunteers attend a training day to learn more about diabetes and Diabetes UK, and when completed you'll be given a presentation and information to start arranging talks in your local area. Training days happen regularly throughout the year, but your local volunteering team can tell you more about what training is available and when. It's important to note that there is no medical training, and you will not be qualified to give medical advice about diabetes.
You can also attend further training to allow you to give talks and presentations in schools or other settings that require a more in-depth understanding.
